Social Skills and Behavior

At Therapeutic Life Skills we understand that good social skills are critical to the healthy development of children in today’s society.

Children learn good social skills through everyday interactions with adults and their peers. The ability to communicate and show age appropriate behavior is the positive social skills essential to creating self-confidence and emotional well-being. Social competence involves the ability to make good choices, know what to say, and how to behave in different situations at school, at home, or in public.

Children also acquire negative social behaviors that might be detrimental to their development or well-being through social influences and peer pressure.

We partner with the parents to facilitate the social learning process by emphasizing the social skills play in maintaining and reinforcing those positive behaviors important to interpersonal and conflict resolution skills at school and at home.

If your child having behavioral problems at school it is important to have someone to help that has professional experience and training.
